As a part of the Bahamas Agricultural & Industrial Corporation’s mandate, to  stimulate, facilitate and encourage the  development of agriculture in The Bahamas, we have launched the marketing initiative, Buy Fresh, Buy Bahamian. This initiative seeks to educate consumers about fresh, locally grown produce, and to explain why buying Bahamian produce is the ‘preferred choice’.

Objectives

The objective of this marketing initiative is threefold.
1. To help market Bahamian agricultural products, including fruits, vegetable & livestock produce.
2. To promote awareness of the products available in the Bahamian Agricultural Sector
3. To highlight the many benefits when you ‘Buy Fresh, Buy Bahamian’

Consumer Benefits:
· Increased savings through farmer-to-consumer direct purchasing
· Increased food safety through traceability (knowing where your food comes from)
· Greater access to produce fresh from the farm, and not filled with preservatives.
· Strengthening our local Farmers: rising together as a nation.

Producer Benefits:
· Greater access to local markets
· Increased revenue
· Expansion and development of facilities

Overall Benefits:
· Job creation in other business sectors (jams, dried fruits, frozen items, etc.)
· Keeping Bahamian dollars in the hands of Bahamians
· A healthier economy through greater    independence from imports and also    increased food security.

The Logo:

We encourage every Bahamian consumer to stop and look for the logo.
This logo ensures that you are:
· Purchasing a locally grown Bahamian agricultural product.
· Doing your part to help strengthen our farmers, entrepreneurs, agricultural industry and nation
· Providing fresh and healthy produce to you and your loved ones.

· Joining us in helping to create a nation that makes educated decisions for a better life.
